Listeria monocytogenes was detected in some of the above batches of Burren Smokehouse Ltd organic & wild smoked salmon products. Burren Smokehouse Ltd. is extending its recall of12th June 2015 to include the additional products and batch codes above. Other batches of Burren Smokehouse Ltd. organic smoked salmon are being tested and results are awaited.

Low levels of Listeria monocytogenes have been detected in the above batch of Burren Smokehouse Ltd smoked organic salmon.

Nature Of Danger:

A low level of the pathogen was detected in the smoked salmon; however, because Listeria monocytogenes can grow at refrigeration temperatures, there is a risk that the bacteria could grow to harmful levels. Listeriosis is a serious disease which can be life threatening, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly and other people with a weakened immune system.

Action Required:

Consumers who have bought the implicated batch should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase.
