Italian Boneless Ham recalled

Di Stefano Cheese Co., a Pomona, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 1,280 pounds of Parma Boneless Ham produced in Italy that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists.

• 15 lb. cases of “Ruliano Collezione Regale” Parma boneless ham with case code 14260
• 15 lb. cases of “Ruliano 24” Parma boneless ham with a sell by date of 08-02-2016

These products were sent to distributors in the California.

The problem was discovered by routine record verification in the Public Health Information System (PHIS).

FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Italian Meatless Pasta Sauce Recalled

Tullia’s is recalling Italian Meatless Pasta Sauce code 530140. This recall has been initiated because a records review by the Washington State Department of Agriculture revealed that one batch of sauce produced with the 530140 code had a pH level high enough to allow the growth of Clostridium botulinum. If present, this organism can cause botulism, a serious and potentially fatal foodborne illness.

Foodborne botulism is a severe type of food poisoning caused by the ingestion of foods containing the potent neurotoxin formed during growth of the organism. Foodborne botulism can cause the following symptoms: general weakness, dizziness, double-vision and trouble with speaking or swallowing. Difficulty in breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension and constipation may also be common symptoms. People experiencing these problems should seek immediate medical attention. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled

Recalled sauce is packaged in 16 OZ. and 32 OZ. clear glass bottles with white caps. The code can be found on the label and is in blue ink. The only code of Tullia’s Italian Meatless Pasta Sauce recalled is 530140.

The recalled sauce was sold in the following markets in the Spokane area: Rosauer’s; Yoke’s; Egger’s (West Rosewood); Trading Company Stores (Spokane); Main Market; and Albertson’s (Wandermere Mall).

Tullia’s has made the decision to recall this product to ensure the safety of their customers. Consumers who have purchased recalled sauce are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement. Fresh Express Italian Salad Recalled Due to Listeria

Fresh Express INC. has issued a recall of a limited number of cases of 10 oz. and 6oz. Italian Salad with the already expired Use-by Date of March 26 and a Product Code of H071A11A due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes. No other Fresh Express products are being recalled.

Only Fresh Express Italian Salad with the specific Product Code of H071A11A and March 26 Use-by Date is included in the recall. Consumers who have the recalled product should not eat it but rather discard it. Consumers with questions may call Fresh Express at (800) 242-5472 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause foodborne illness in a person who eats a food item contaminated with it. Symptoms of infection may include fever, muscle aches, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea. The illness primarily impacts pregnant women and adults with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill.

Although the product was already expired and no illnesses were reported, the company elected to issue a recall as a precaution when it learned a single sample in a random test had yielded a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes. Fresh Express is coordinating closely with regulatory officials.

The recalled salad was distributed in limited quantities to predominantly Eastern and Mid-Atlantic states.

Fresh Express Italian Salad being recalled displays a Use-by Date of March 26, 2014 with a Product Code of H071A11A in the upper right-hand side of the package.

Canada: Dole brand Italian Blend salad recalled due to Listeria

Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is recalling Dole brand Italian Blend salad from the marketplace due to possible Listeria contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below.

Campbell Soup Recalled Prego Traditional Italian Sause

Campbell Soup Company is voluntarily recalling approximately 300 cases of 24-ounce jars of Prego Traditional Italian sauce because of a risk of spoilage.

The affected product was manufactured on December 15, 2013 and can be identified by the “Best By” date of June 16, 2015 and a four-digit, military time code ranging from “CT BJ ZV 0330” through “CT BJ ZV 0449.” This information is printed on the top of the lid as follows:

The product subject to the recall was made at the Campbell Soup Supply Company establishment in Paris, Texas and was shipped on December 21, 2013 to retailer distribution centers that serve the following seven states: Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma. This recall is limited to the U.S.

The potential spoilage was discovered as a result of the company’s routine quality control testing. This recall does not affect any other Campbell products. No consumer illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

Consumers who have purchased the product should not eat it. Consumers should return the product to the store where the product was purchased for a full refund. Consumers can also call Campbell at 866-270-9303 for more information, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST.
