Great Britain: Smoked fish Recalled

Lloyds & Sons smoked fish products were processed in an unapproved establishment
Smoked mackerel, catfish, barracuda, and tilapia have been processed in an unapproved establishment, trading as Lloyds & Sons. Investigations at the establishment found that Lloyds & Sons were smoking fish products without approval from the competent authority and a remedial action notice has been served to stop this operation. Some of the implicated products may still be available on sale at food premises in the London area.
As the above products were manufactured in an unapproved establishment they do not comply with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004, which lays down the specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin.
Despite investigations by the enforcement authorities, it has not been possible to obtain full distribution details. There is known distribution to some specialist retail establishments in London, however, it is possible that distribution may have taken place to other establishments outside of London.
All dates and batch codes of Lloyds & Sons:
  • smoked mackerel
  • smoked catfish
  • smoked barracuda
  • smoked tilapia
Please note that other smoked fish products processed by Lloyds & Sons may also be on sale. To assist officers in correctly identifying this product, an example of the label is attached to this alert.
If you have purchased any smoked fish products with please do not eat them.
