Recall of “Glasses” Shaped Straw Due to the Presence of DPHP with code  of 16362, an  article number of 93/2017 and a bar code of 4029811191796. These straws were made in China
Di(2-Propyl Heptyl) phthalate (DPHP) was detected in the above batch of drinking straws shaped as glasses.  DPHP is a phthalate and is not authorised for use in food contact materials in the European Union. The implicated batch is being recalled from sale in Ireland and elsewhere. Point of sale notices should be displayed for customers in retail shops where this batch was sold.
DPHP are chemicals of concern, because they are endocrine disruptors. It is used as a plasticizer.It can also leach into a liquid that comes in contact with the plastic; When in the blood of pregnant women it can affect the male genitalia of the new born. It helps causes diabetes and obesity.
