Great Britain: Lamb, Beef and Mutton Recalled

Heads of Environmental Health and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware that a company formerly trading as Farmbox Meats Limited (Llandre, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Approval has supplied frozen beef trim found to breach food safety regulations.
We believe that the product has NOT been subject to proper temperature controls and does NOTcomply with traceability requirements under food law. It has not been possible to obtain full distribution details or product traceability records for products supplied from this establishment. The company is no longer trading.
All dates and batch codes of:
  • Frozen Lamb, Beef and Mutton Trim (predominantly in frozen blocks) - supplied by Farmbox Meats Limited, UK 7124 EC

The above products do not comply with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 which lays down the general principles and requirements of food law and they fail to comply with the General Food Regulations 2004.
Local Authorities are requested to make contact with the establishments in their area likely to purchase the implicated products i.e. processors. If implicated products are found during the course of their investigations, enforcement officers should ensure that the products are withdrawn from sale and detained, if necessary using powers under the Food Safety Act 1990
Local authorities should report any finding of the implicated products by emailing the FSA’s dedicated Food Incidents mailbox: foodincidents@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk. Further advice will be provided to local authorities on action to be taken on detained products.
