Boston Salads and Prepared Foods, Boston, MA is voluntarily recalling the following prepared salads, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Seafood and Shrimp Salad, Chef's Recipe Potato Salad, Seafood Salad, Tuna Salad and Shrimp Salad were manufactured by Boston Salads and Prepared Foods and bear the Boston Salads, Rachael’s Gourmet, Dietz and Watson labels with the sell by dates stated above. Garden Tuna Salad bears the Costa Fruit Fresh Ideas label with the sell by dates stated above.
There has been no illness or complaints related to this recall.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Product was distributed throughout the MA,CT,RI,VT,and ME states to wholesale and food service distributors, and retail stores. No other products or code dates were affected by this recall.
