United Kingdom: ABC Dophilus Recalled Due To Fungus Rhizopus Oryzae

Solgar UK has recalled batches of ABC Dophilus food supplement that have been found to contain the fungus Rhizophus oryzae, which may cause a rare infection known as mucormycosis. This infection may cause health problems to consumers, particularly vulnerable groups. Vulnerable groups include premature infants, infants, children and anyone with a weakened immune system.
The product is marketed as a food supplement suitable for infants and children.
The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.
