Officials announced that a former doctor was charged for allegedly conspiring to defraud the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and commit healthcare fraud when he reportedly created a device from pieces of used propane tanks welded together, and tried to pass it off as a hyperbaric chamber marketed as Hyperbox 101. Authorities also allege that the former doctor received millions of dollars through fraudulent claims submitted to Medicare and other programs.
