Monsanto Produces rGHB ( a genetically engineered artificial hormone) which is used to increase milk production by 11 to 16% According to two studies, the cows that are treated with rBGH have a 25% greater chance of udder infections, a 40% reduction in fertility and a 55% increase in lameness. Cows can not be treated with rBGH in twenty seven countries including Canada and all the countries in the European Union...
Because of the udder infections these cows are given more antibiotics to keep them well. The milk from these cows is tested and is not sold if there is antibiotics in the milk. This causes human health problems is that these antibiotics cause the development of drug resistant bacteria which makes it much more difficult to treat human illness It is estimated that 90,000 people die in the United States from diseases caused by drug resistant bacteria.
The Use of rGHB also increases the amount of Insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-I) It contributes to aging and is used as medicine for people who will not grow. IGF-1 has been shown to produce tumours.
The extent to which intact, active IGF-1 is absorbed through the human digestive tract remains uncertain.The evidence for potential harm to humans [from rBGH milk] is inconclusive. It is not clear that drinking milk produced using rBGH significantly increases IGF-1 levels in humans or adds to the risk of developing cancer. More research is needed to help better address these concerns.
The dairy Industry has use the “It does a body good” slogan to make people think that milk is healthy. It is healthy for calfs. .But the scientific shows that milk and milk products are not healthy in humans. So whether IGF-1 causes cancer or not or whether its. raw or pasteurized or not its a good idea to get cows milk out of your diet.
