New Zealand:: Fruzio Frozen Berries recalled due to Hepatitis A.


Food Product:
Frozen blackberries, strawberries and mixed berries (strawberries and blackberries) and three berry mix (blackberries, strawberries and blueberries)

Package Description & Size:
Plastic packets, sold frozen.

Fruzio Mixed Berry 1kg and 500g products with batch dates with Expiry or Use By dates up to and including 7 October 2018.

Fruzio IQF Strawberry 1 kg bag all batches dates with expiry date or use by date up to and including 8 September 2018.

Fruzio IQF Blackberry 1 kg bag all batches dates with expiry date or use by up to including 8 September 2018.

Fruzio IQF 3 Mixed Berry 1 kg bag all batches dates with expiry date or use by up to including 17 November 2018.
NZ Distribution:
The product is sold in PaK’n Save, New World, Four Square and Gilmours stores throughout New Zealand.
Reason for Recall:
Fruzio Mixed Berries (blackberries and strawberries) have been implicated in 4 cases of Hepatitis A.
Comments:
There have been no further reports of illness, however any person concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
Customers should either dispose of the product responsibly or return the product to their retail store for full refund.
This recall does not affect any other Fruzio product.
Three other strawberry and blackberry IQF fruit food service products, not available for sale in supermarkets, with limited distribution are also being recalled.
